How to Attract Birds
Published in Paperback by Ortho Books (May, 1983)
Authors: Ortho Books, Ken R. Burke, and Cindy Clark-Huegel
Average review score:

Best I've seen
The editorial review basically says it all. I'm using the book quite a bit -- I'm trying to attract birds that will eat insect pests. Few other sources have such detailed information about feeding habits, and the information on houses is quite adequate, although you can find birdhouse designs which are much more visually appealing (to humans!) in other books. The one thing I really wish they had done is to put the pests in the index; finding what pests birds like particular to eat requires tedious entry-by-entry searching.

The Hunters.
Published in Hardcover by Delacorte Press (December, 1976)
Author: Clark Howard
Average review score:

Great thriller.......
Howard is brilliant with this story of a serial killer of cops. Very exciting and has some lovely twists to it. Not an easy book to get hold of. The author has done some fine work: The Wardens, The Zebra Killings, Five against the Rock (non-fiction) and Dirt Rich amongst them. Where are you Clark ? Been looking for another.

Hypnosis and Suggestibility: An Experimental Approach
Published in Hardcover by Crown House Pub Ltd (November, 2002)
Author: Clark W. Hull
Average review score:

A classic work in the annals of psychology
First printed in 1933, Hypnosis And Suggestibility: An Experimental Approach by Clark L. Hull (1884-1952) is a classic work in the annals of psychology and describes the rigorous scientific experimental methods which helped establish the behavioral view of hypnosis as an exact science. Long out of print, and now made available by CrownHouse Publishing Limited, Hypnosis And Suggestibility is especially recommended for personal and academic reference collections as being a studious, extensively detailed, college-level text that transcends the test of time.

Great book for kids!
When I was a little kid, I LOVED this book! I brought it with me on vacations and tried to memorize the poems. I still have this book, and one day I'll pass it on to my kid's.

I Never Saw a Purple Cow has laugh-out-loud poetry, enjoyable for really all ages.

The Ice Cream Machine Cookbook
Published in Paperback by Berkley Pub Group (April, 1999)
Author: Melissa Clark
Average review score:

This small book is brimming with luscious recipes.
We just love this ice cream cookbook. It has the best recipes for all the classics, like an incredible vanilla bean ice cream and the richest chocolate peanut butter ripple ever. But it also has some unusal flavors that are also wonderful, like strawberry rhubarb ice cream (which we made last week and the best so far) and fresh mint chocolate chip ice cream. I can't wait to try the port wine and fig ice cream next! It's a terrific value!!

Wow!
I am a student of Psychology. I am interested in counseling African Americans in a group setting. This book was wonderful! An excellent source for referring back to again and again. This book elaborates on psychological techniques that are best for African American women and how to incorporate Afrocentric beliefs and ideas. These techniques help Black women to cope with stress, racism and gender issues. A must read for any counselor, psychologist, sociologist, psychiatrist and STUDENTS who are interested in working with African American women within a group or individual context. Thanks for a excellent insight on how to help our people!

Imperial China: Photographs 1850-1912
Published in Hardcover by Outlet (August, 1978)
Authors: Clark Worswick, Jonathan D. Spence, Asia House Gallery, and American Federation of Arts
Average review score:

a truly interesting photographic essay
This book principally consits of photographs. The text mostly introduces the photographers and sets the scene (so to speek) for the photos.

The photos themselves are astonishing. They are all taken between 1850 and 1912, when China was still living like it had done for the past 3 thousand years, in all it's high culture and barbarity.

There are photos of gorgeously attired couples in dragon robes, all formally seated like ancestor portraits. There are also city-scapes and photos of remote temples and the Summer palace before it was burnt by the invading armies of the west. There are scenes of executions which hide NOTHING and scenes from the imperial court and pictures of heart-breaking poverty.

This book is an eye-opener. I've never seen a collection of photos like this anywhere else. I highly reccomend this book to anybody interested in Imperial China, Costume or social history
